Take the Housing Choice Survey, share it with your patients and encourage them to take it as well. The survey is open from May 15, 2020 to June 15, 2020.
The Behavioral Health Advisory Committee has approved the development of a Housing Choice Plan for individuals with mental health conditions, substance use histories and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. HHSC is announcing the availability of a survey designed to collect client and stakeholder input for this plan.
HHSC is seeking input on the survey from individuals with lived experience, families/caregivers, providers and service agencies and organizations. HHSC requests MCOs take the Housing Choice Survey and also share it with members and providers and encourage them to participate.
Most people are currently focused COVID-19, but it is important to complete and distribute the survey at this time because housing is a critical component of a person’s health and well-being.
The survey will collect information on the housing needs of people with mental health conditions, substance use histories and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. Answers to the survey will help HHSC understand the need for housing and housing supports across the state and make plans for the future.
Responses to the survey are anonymous and confidential. Answers will be combined and summarized with the responses of many other people. Answers will not change an individual’s ability to receive or provide services.
