The flu shot is FREE to Community First members at:
Your doctor's office
HEB Pharmacy
The minimum age to get a flu shot without a prescription is seven (7). Pharmacists will administer the vaccination to children younger than seven; however, they must have a prescription, whereas no prescription is required for patients seven and older. To schedule an appointment call 877-HEB-WELL or visit www.heb.com.
For more information concerning who should receive the flu shot please contact Martha Gonzales at (210) 358-6144 or visit the Centers for Disease Control web site.
We anticipate the flu vaccine should be available to everyone but in the event of a shortage, Community First complies with all guidelines and dates provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please verify with the location where you plan to receive your flu shot/FluMist to make sure the immunization is available and that you meet the criteria for receiving it.
What about swine flu, the H1N1 virus?
The CDC is still formulating its plan for the timing and distribution of the H1N1 vaccine. Community First will contact you when it becomes available.
